For the very first time, the Uganda Tourism Board has spearheaded an exclusive travel package for the residents of the Gulf countries. “Experience Uganda First” campaign is promoted to benefit the people of the Gulf countries to visit and enjoy the beauty of Uganda.
The campaign opens up a plethora of opportunities for selected G.C.C. travel agencies and tour package portals with unique holiday packages based on different themes along with airport transfers complimentary for the International tourists.
The campaign was officially launched on the 17th of October 2019 at an event that was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel to promote Uganda Tourism in the Gulf nations. The event was attended by great dignitaries – Honorable Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, Uganda Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities and the Ugandan Ambassador to the UAE and IRENA, His Excellency Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi and members of the Ugandan Government and The Parliament.
Few words on the campaign
The small country of Uganda is also known as the ‘Pearl of Africa’. It is one of the most sought after holiday destinations for the people of Africa and International tourists who enjoy adrenaline-pumped adventurous gateways, with family and friends.
Uganda is the home to the highest concentration of primates and birds in Africa, the special promotional holiday package will be a real treat for both nature lovers and adventure seekers. Travel agencies with proper tour package portal development processes get a lot to offer for the tourists, straight from guided safaris, mountain gorilla treks, River Nile boating experiences, wild Chimpanzee encounters to pampering at luxury hotels and spas.
The holiday packages are specially curated to cover activities such as white water rafting trips down the River Nile to Safari trips on 4-wheel vehicles and even coffee tours, to name a few. The packages are specially tailor-made to offer personalized services to the visitors coming all the way from the Gulf nations as well as those travelling as couples, or with families and friends.
Four and five-star accommodation packages are included as well to pamper the foreign tourists.
Further, the Uganda Tourism Board will be launching an online training program for the Middle East travel agents for promoting Uganda to their respective clients. And, supporting this campaign, social media platforms are targeted to promote the country of Uganda under the hashtag #ExperienceUganda1st.

It is hoped that through these marketing efforts that more nationals and residents of the Gulf Countries will come to visit Uganda, see first-hand the exceptional natural and human resources and talent that makes Uganda so special, especially as a holiday destination.
Highlights from the event
The campaign launch party was attended by more than 50 of the UAE’s leading travel agencies, Uganda Tourism Board Officials, and a number of tour package portal operators.
Ndere Troupe, a cultural dance group welcomed the guests with their brilliant performance and inaugurated the launch event. The dance performance showcased the different cultural attractions that Uganda has to offer on its platter.

The Ugandan Ambassador to the UAE and IRENA, His Excellency Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi, further added,
The Gulf Countries are a region of focus and commitment for Uganda going forward. To that end, the Uganda Tourism Board has established a representative office with AVIAREPS based in Dubai to cover the whole G.C.C. region. Various destination marketing activities, including this campaign launch, are being conducted in the region to make Uganda more accessible for travellers and travel agents alike, to ensure that Uganda becomes a ‘bucket list’ holiday destination that doesn’t disappoint.
